How are your costumes coming?
Girls: check your closets (and your sister's closets...with permission of course..lol..) or even ask your girl friends if they have a nice full swishy skirt and blouse. Do you need more pictures to help you with your costumes?

Here are a few more ideas to help you out.
If you have a more specialty costume, we are more than happy to help you out. Let us know what you need help with. Or is there are certain pieces that you are having trouble finding, let us know so that we can ask around. Feel free to comment on the blog what you are having trouble with.
For shoes... if you are still looking for shoes I have a suggestion. At walmart they sell shoe liners in the nylon section. They slip on like a slipper and look like a shoe from a distance. They come in all colors and patterns, but if you were to get a black pair they would work for your costume. They are about $3 a pair. When selecting your shoes, remember no heels and you want shoes that you don't feel restriced in. You want to be able to walk freely without worrying about stumbling in your shoes. As soon as you have found your shoes for the play, start wearing them at practice. You will need to practice walking in them on the stage--we don't want to hear your footsteps on the stage..very distracting.
Guys: How is it coming?? Dromios and Antipholuses we are having your pants, vest and sash made so that we can have you look as exact as possible. You, however will need to get your shirt and shoes. Remember, all guys need black shoes AND socks. Only have a shirt with a pocket if you have a vest to cover up the pocket. If you want a scarf for your head, that is fine!--Much less hairspray involved that way..lol.. Think pirate!!
AAArrhhh!!We are looking for a few props to help with the play and costumes. Please ask your parents if you able to help us out with any of these things. We will be posting other items in the near future.
A steamer trunk--similar to a large treasure chest.
A petticoat--a poofy skirt liner ...REALLY poofy.
Black graduation gown
Also if you have extra costume pieces that you would be willing to share with the others, please let us know!!
I was suppose to take pictures of class last thursday to post, but alas, I was only took one..lol..I was a little distracted. So here are some random pictures from the past.
And finally, here is a picture of me when I was 17(?) and in the play Hello Dolly. (sadly the only picture I have) I caused my director some extreme stress two weeks before opening night. On Thursday, remind me to tell you what happen
.
so what happened, eh?
ReplyDeletehahaha Ray!!! You'll have to come to class!! :-p I can't believe you don't remember...you teased me for YEARS about it..lol...
ReplyDeleteRemember the needle?

ReplyDeleteoh and btw I love having the countdown!
ReplyDeleteSorry no bare feet. Missed you in class today Hailee!! :-)
ReplyDeleteDo I HAVE TO wear guy shoes? or can I wear the ones you get at Walmart? *Ashelyn*
ReplyDeleteAshlyn..if you were to wear black socks and then the ones at walmart that should be ok. But I surprised if you already had black shoes that would work. --Bonita
ReplyDeleteare the guys gonna wear boots? cuz that seems right. BTW, That was a great story Bonita. Hopefully I wont get a needle in the foot!! :) So, we should have more pictures on the blog. I like to show my friends all the cool people I talk about ALL THE TIME hehehehehe

Oh and what do you think of me using an accent? I can totally do either way, I find it easier to say my lines with an accent, but I really dont care. Just want your opinion ;)

Can I PLEASE please WEAR my costume next week? I wanna show in off!!!
ReplyDelete*Adriana*
NO NEEDLES!!!
ReplyDeleteNo accent. Shakespeare is hard enough for some to understand. Remember Macbeth in the southern accent?
Hold off on the costume till the 7th, then you may wear your costumes. Starting on the 7th-that will be our dress rehearsal. Our rehearsals will also be until 3 and we will have time for everyone to quickly change.
Boots are to noisy on stage, loafers or simple church shoes are ok.
I'll see what I can do about getting some more pictures.
My last comment should have said "if you were to wear black socks and then the BLACK ones at Walmart that should be ok. But WOULDN'T BE surprised if you already had black shoes that would work." --goodness! I really hammered that comment.
Okay. Well, I cant promise no needles, because someone has to sew the Dromio and Antifilous costumes ;) But I will be careful. They dont let me do the sewing anyway. I have to iron. And that is a JOB. You wouldn't believe!! Haha cant wait for the play!!
